A. The Schools Directory is a listing of all the main schools in the UK with links to their websites, wherever we have been able to find this information.

We ask all schools to check that their website is correctly listed from time to time, and to use the “Update school details” facility where there is no site listed or the site is incorrectly linked.

The benefit to schools of being listed here is enormous. Parents are always looking for details of schools, and finding the prospectus on-line saves the parents time in writing for a copy, and saves the school considerable sums by reducing its postage and printing requirements. On-line prospectuses can also be updated as situations change, which is of course not the case with printed prospectuses.

The site is also widely used by teachers (not least those looking for information on schools to which they might apply for a job), school managers and governors (who are able to compare their school’s approach with that of others), school administrators and companies that sell products to schools. Each have their own sections around the main “find a school” box on the home page.

The site is sponsored and supported by The School of Educational Administration who actively support the use of on-line prospectuses as a way of making school offices more efficient (email info@admin.org.uk) and Hamilton House Mailings plc (sales@hamilton-house.com) who supply and maintain the schools’ data.
